Burj Khalifa, Dubai 5/10
Of course whilst we were in Dubai we had to visit the tallest building in the world.
There are various levels you can visit but we pre booked tickets for ‘At The Top’ level 124, it cost AED 130 or £25 each. We booked the tickets for the first day we arrived and travel on the metro from our hotel to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall stop. We were already running a little late and had to rush to get to the Burj on time however it wasn’t as easy as we expected. We got off the metro and were on a never ending walking escalator. We finally found our way into Dubai mall after about 15 minutes, by this point we were very hot and annoyed.
Obviously the Dubai mall is massive, one of the biggest in the world so it also wasn’t easy to find our way through there, we finally asked a security guard who pointed us in the right direction. It was easy enough collecting our tickets and we were zoomed to the ‘top’ of the tallest building in the world. It was really busy with a lot of groups taking pictures. We edged our way towards the edge to get a good look over Dubai. To be honest there wasn’t that much to look at. Dubai is vast dessert as well as a lot of construction in the city centre, we found ourselves overlooking multiple construction sites. You can look out to the sea however it was quite misty on this occasion, looking down you can see the Dubai waterfront and foundations which is nice.
After we’d looked down we then looked up and realised we were no where near ‘At The Top’ but about half way up and you had to pay extra to visit the higher levels. I’m glad I ticketed this attraction of my list but it was a bit of a let down really.
