The one and only mistake Mum made on the whole holiday was not prior booking the Alcatraz tickets, oh yes and not booking the airline seats so that going to the US we had to sit apart, so when we were tried to book tickets on Sunday for Friday they were already sold out, went along to Pier 39 to see if there were any cancellations but no chance!
Instead took a boat tour that took us around the bay under the GG bridge and around Alcatraz with a commentary this lasted 90 minutes and wasn’t a bad alternative. Had lunch at Johnny Rockets, fantastic shakes!
Then took the Powell-Mason streetcar to Market Street we were able hang on the side which wasn’t too bad as it didn’t go very fast but there were plenty of steep inclines. Left our shopping til last and first went to Forever 21 which we had been told about then the Ed Hardy shop and Guess for some Jeans.
It was then time to go to the baseball and hopefully better luck this time, we were able to walk there as there were plenty of people heading that way so we just followed the crowds, got tickets for $20 each that were high up but pretty central and gave us a great view, it was San Francisco Giants Vs New York Mets.. Had great night weather was good and great stadium looking out over the San Francisco bay, good atmosphere, score was Giants 2 Mets 0. Bought a giants cap to support the home team. Got the bus back after waiting for a while as it was very crowded and the buses were already full so couldn’t pick up but when we did get on it took us almost to the door.
