Today we travelled from Los Angeles to San Diego and stopped off at Long Beach and Huntington Beach on the way. It was an overcast day again which is just as well as we over did it yesterday, headed for Long beach and a quick look at The Queen Mary, can’t believe it, it is actually raining, didn’t think it rained in Southern California or at least that’s what the song says.
Next we stopped at Huntington Beach which is Surf City USA, plenty of people on the beach considering the weather, like a UK day at the beach.
Next to Mission San Juan Capistrano, apparently one of the best preserved missions in California, it did not disappoint. Mission San Juan Capistrano was a Spanish mission dating back to 1775. There was a lot of history and cultural, the old buildings were wonderful and the gardens were magnificent. We were able to learn about the history of the mission through an audio tour.
As we arrived in San Diego a day early we had nowhere to stay, decided to stay at Chula Vista near the Mexican border as we expected to be going there, later changed our minds and decided not to bother as the travel advice wasn’t great.
